Hello, if you're here reading this, then that must mean you want to hear a bit more about me. So for this reason I have put some further information on this page, purely to satisfy your curiosity and certainly not to blow my own trumpet or rant on and on about myself like a pretentious twat.
Saying that though I do rant on a bit. -

Where shall I begin? I suppose from my very first memory ever; obsessively staring at a space themed logo on my Lego astronaut minifig, trying to copy it perfectly over and over again, of course it was probably dead rubbish. This creative passion continued into school, experimenting with all sorts of creative outlets, drawing covers for school brochures, entering colouring-in competitions and winning my fair share of gold stars and book vouchers along the way.
Living in a small Welsh hamlett with nothing to do but be creative, I would spend much of my childhood doing just that. At the age of seven I would draw one comic strip, starring a dog called Oscar (who was completely different to Garfield) every day... this persisted till I was 11.
But traditional sketching, drawing, painting, mosaic making, model making and the like became a bit usual, I wanted to play with a completely new medium... -
There, from out of the paper filled world, came MS Paint. Aged nine, I would painstakingly create elaborate (for my age) images, pixel by pixel. This love of digital arts eventually lead me into designing and building my own website at the age of 14, a Feeder fansite that was actually quite popular in it's day. But I never had liked sticking to one medium, and I still don't, so I would also dabble in technical and architectural drawing, designing ergonomic computer desks and crazy stupid buildings.
So there I was, about to finish my A-levels, looking for university options and not knowing what I wanted to do. I knew it would be creative, but what, I liked lots of creative fields. Drawing logos as a child, experimenting with materials to design school brochure covers, pixel art and web design and build at 14, designing computer furniture to a brief in school, which challenge do I enjoy the most? "You can't do them all" - shut up yes I can I'll be a graphic designer... fool. -
My uni experience was fantastic because that is where I really spread my wings as a creative and realised for the first time that this is what I'd be doing for life. My thirst for a variety of creative approaches and executions was quenched during my course but left me hungry for more.
Several years on and I'm still enjoying working in a variety of creative puddles. Corporate identity, branding, packaging, exhibition design, print design, web design, caricatures, animation, Flash work, iPhone / iPad apps, AR, games, interactives... I jump in to them all, you can see evidence of all this splashed across My Poor Brain, so take a look around.
My Poor Brain is happy to have you... -
